Kolkata rape-murder case highlights: BJP accuses Mamata of ‘waging war’ against people of Bengal

Kolkata rape-murder case highlights: The Supreme Court adjourned their hearing on matters related to the RG Kar case today and will resume hearing the case on September 17. The CBI will also file a fresh report on the investigation to the court on the same date. The bench consisting of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra had initially taken suo moto cognisance of the case on August 22.

During today’s hearing, the Supreme Court pointed out various discrepancies such as the absence of a post mortem report challan, the filing of the FIR 14 hours late and differences in timelines of general diary entries by both sides.

The court also asked that all photographs of the victim be taken off social media in order to respect her dignity and privacy.
